Thanks to researchers from the University of Washington the very first battery-free phone could be yours soon. Imagine not having to charge your phone because it harvests light and radio waves from your surroundings. Amazing!

The researchers used a nifty way to get rid of the most power hungry part of normal cell phones: The conversion of analog audio signals into digital data. According to the post on the University website, “this process consumes so much energy that it’s been impossible to design a phone that can rely on ambient power sources.”

When art and technology meet, the result is always amazing. This time, we'll talk about a wonderful approach made by JWT Amsterdam to revive the paintings of one of the most famous painters in the history, Rembrandt van Rijn, 347 years after his passing.

The creative team of JWT has examined the entire collection of Rembrandt’s work, studying the contents of his paintings pixel by pixel to recreate a digital lifelike Rembrandt painting. The Next Rembrandt is the name of the project, and it was sponsored by ING and Microsoft and supported by the Delft University of Technology and several museums.
